There she sat, only two tables away, with her fiance. It was an ordinary hectic morning, both are in their working attire, her fiance in his white doctor jacket with his doctor leather bag under the table and she - unlike yesterday - wore skirt. On the table was two sandwiches, one cup of chamomile tea, and a glass of orange juice. All the usual routines, but even I had to admit that they owned that table like the King and the Queen of a prosperous kingdom in the far east. All the people going in and out of this joint, but they stay the same. Then pop.
The ring was beautiful. I am no appraiser, but I know it costs at least 300 cups of Ben Bonjour's special drink which is only sold on special occasions. By special, I meant no Christmas nor Independence Day. By special, I meant catastrophic special, like when The Parade comes to visit; and it's already 10 years since the last The Parade.
I was never sure of my feeling about Martha, but now, I am.
P.S. Vince told me to stay away from Martha. I will never.
